Happy 2013!!

...well 2 days late. I hope everyone brought it in in a safe and fun way. I got the chance to party on New Year's Eve, something I haven't done in years!!! My family had a traditional Jamaican dinner and laughed and talked about 2012's happenings, my father predicted that 2013 will be great because his formula is that odd number years are good years smh, we'll see. After dinner a bunch of us partied with Nas at Radio City for his NYE in NYC concert. Mr. Cee got the crowd hype with 90's hip hop (when Hip Hop was HIP HOP) and Elle Varner was the opening act, I had heard her name but only her single "Refill" (which I though was a McDonald's jingle-don't laugh) so I was happy to hear her voice for real and it's really GOOD. It was my first time seeing Nas live and he actually gave a HOT performance, opening the show seated with that tacky green wedding dressed draped over his lap. He went back and forth between his Life is Good album and some of his classics and we loved every minute of it!!

I'm still not a resolution kind of girl (I have a thing about failure) but if my father's formula is right then I'm excited about 2013. I'm looking forward to moving closer to dreams I kind of let slip, professionally and personally, and I'm just grateful to still be here with the chance to get it right. I look forward to watching Chunks turn 4 and grow more into the amazing kid I see coming out and showing him around our hometown more and more. I'm not scared of turning 28, I welcome it, I just KNOW my 30s will be OF THE CHAIN! So I'm putting in the work now.
Just Me Playing in Makeup
I'm going to stick to and better my overall look, in a convo with my beauty BFF (in my head) Danielle The Style and Beauty Dr. I felt dragged because I looked dragged so putting more effort in what I look like will be a goal I continue to pursue and stepping my wardrobe up a notch is on the agenda, no more sweats and sneaks for me (well, not everyday). I hope to get out more, especially in the warmer months, and get more involved in community service. All things I've been working on since 2012, so gonna stick with it and add as I go.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Any resolutions out there?? How long do you normally stick it out when you make one?

I think I did ok with my resolutions from last year. I did stick with cooking and eating healthy right up until Thanksgiving. Then I started frying more foods and stuffing my face with tons of starches. My main goal for the New Year is to get my novel published.

Glad you got out for NYE! I do tend to make resolutions and I think I'm pretty good at keeping them. This year, I am keeping it simple. This year my resolution is to be great. I think that covers everything. LOL!

Happy new year!!! I tried last year to be all politically correct and make "goals" not resolutions. Whatever. I have a few this year and I wrote them down!

HNY!! (I'm so late lol!)

I have a few resolutions this year: losing weight (already on it 6 lbs off!!), saving more money and hopefully, like yourself, getting a house by the end of the year. I hope I fulfill all of them!
