The Mr has this weird way of eating ice-cream that I just can't understand. He scoops his ice-cream of choice into a tall glass and then pops it in the microwave to melt a little, insert confused face here. Whenever I say, 'You don't like ice-cream, you like milkshakes' he gets all upset and says it tastes better that way. Yeah, ok.
Well the other night while in Duane Reade I found exactly the taste/texture the Mr was looking for without having to watch him treat my poor ice cream that way, I mean ice-cream in the microwave is just cruel, no? Hershey's the king company of all things chocolate have a new treat out called the Milkshake. We tried the Cookies and Cream flavor and it tastes JUST like the ice-cream. DELISH!! You even get little cookie pieces blended in, shake well they settle on the bottom.
The Mr couldn't stop talking about it and even Chunks tore up his own bottle (well half, they are pretty sweet for his little blood stream) but it's ultra-pastuerized and grade A. This weekend I tried the Strawberry Milkshake flavor but so far the Cookies and Cream is the winner! The site says to be on the look-out for coupons and deals and I'm sure the Mr won't let me miss any of them. For the price and that taste it's worth it.

Yes, ice cream in the microwave is wrong. It defeats the purpose of it being ice cream. Glad that you all found something he likes and won't have to microwave to the right texture.
I may have to try this I love milkshakes. I know the stores down here will probably be late with this item so I will be on the lookout.
Yeah, I need to start giving my lil princess some milkshake too. We'll try it this week.
